How to restore a backup on MoodLensAI
Last reviewed September 13, 2026
Open your deployment's backups page, pick a backup with a Succeeded status, and start the restore. MoodLensAI queues the restore as a background job and overwrites your app's current data with that backup — there is no partial or file-level restore, and no undo once it starts, so make sure you are restoring the right one.
Prerequisites
- A MoodLensAI deployment with at least one backup that finished successfully (status Succeeded).
- Awareness that a restore overwrites your current data — it does not merge with it.
Steps
-
1
Open the backups page
From your deployment's dashboard, open its Backups tab to see your backup history and each one's status.
-
2
Trigger a fresh backup if you need one
Backups also run automatically on a fixed schedule (every 24 hours by default, kept for 14 days by default), but you can trigger one on demand before making a risky change.
-
3
Pick a succeeded backup
Only a backup with status Succeeded can be restored — a failed or still-running backup is not offered.
-
4
Start the restore
MoodLensAI confirms the restore will overwrite your current data, then queues it as a background job.
-
5
Wait for it to complete
The restore runs asynchronously — check your deployment's status or history to confirm it finished.
Common failures
The restore option is missing for a backup
Only backups with status Succeeded are restorable; a failed backup cannot be used and needs a new backup instead.
Restored data is not what you expected
A restore replaces your current data with exactly that backup's snapshot. If you needed something more recent, check whether a newer succeeded backup exists first.
Nothing to restore yet
If your deployment is brand new, its first scheduled backup may not have run yet — trigger one manually instead of waiting.
Security notes
A restore is always checked against your own deployment before it runs — one customer's backup can never be restored onto another customer's app.
