How to connect a custom domain to your MoodLensAI deployment

Last reviewed September 13, 2026

Add your domain from your deployment's dashboard, then point your domain's DNS at MoodLensAI by adding a single A record at your own registrar or DNS provider. MoodLensAI verifies that record and automatically issues an SSL certificate once it resolves — MoodLensAI does not manage your domain's DNS itself; you keep that at whichever registrar or DNS provider you already use.

Prerequisites

  • A domain you own, registered with any registrar.
  • Access to that domain's DNS settings at your own registrar or DNS provider, not MoodLensAI, to add an A record.
  • A running MoodLensAI deployment.

Steps

  1. 1

    Add your hostname

From your deployment's domain page, enter the hostname you want to use. MoodLensAI marks it "Waiting for DNS" and shows the exact A record to add.

  2. 2

Add the DNS record at your own DNS provider

Add the single A record wherever you already manage your domain's DNS. MoodLensAI never asks for access to your registrar or DNS account — you make this change yourself.

  3. 3

    Wait for DNS verification

MoodLensAI checks the record and moves the domain from "Waiting for DNS" to "DNS verified" once it resolves. This can take a while — DNS propagation happens at your provider, outside MoodLensAI's control.

  4. 4

    SSL is issued automatically

Once verified, MoodLensAI requests and issues a trusted SSL certificate, moving the domain to "Issuing SSL" and then "Active" — nothing to buy or renew yourself.

  5. 5

Recheck manually if you get stuck

If verification seems stuck, use the recheck action on the domain page rather than waiting indefinitely.

Common failures

Domain stays on "Waiting for DNS"

The A record has not propagated yet, or the wrong record type or value was added — double-check exactly what your dashboard is asking for.

Domain moves to "Failed"

Usually an issue issuing the SSL certificate, often because the DNS record changed again mid-verification or points at the wrong address. Re-add the domain to restart the flow.

Only one domain connects per deployment

MoodLensAI supports one hostname per deployment today — there is no built-in support for multiple custom domains or wildcard subdomains on a single app yet.

Security notes

MoodLensAI only ever asks you to add a DNS record you control — it never requests access to your domain registrar account or DNS provider login.
